The superintendent is responsible for daily works in a student residential complex, such as organization of moving in/moving out as well as repair works.

Within usual office hours in the residential complex – Mondays to Fridays from 9.00 to 11.00.
In emergency cases (e.g. water ingress, accidents) you can reach the emergency service day and night.
Also in this case emergency service is available. An extra fee of 40 EUR will however be due for a new key and the emergency service.
Before moving into a new apartment, you should pay a deposit of 2 inclusive monthly rents. The deposit is a collateral security charged for the implementation of obligations and/or for damage claims. No interest is paid on the deposit (acc. to 551 p. 3 of the German Civil Code); it will be returned approx. 4 to 6 weeks after termination of the rental agreement – provided there are no claims from the landlord.
You will receive a copy of your agreement together with a file „Welcome Home“ from the superintendent on your move-in date. There you will find useful tips all around the topic „Accommodation“ and can file all contract-related AKAFÖ documents.
The regular termination period is two months. There is an exception, i.e. a three-month termination period for the publicly funded accommodation (Buscheyplatz) and is possible either by the 15th or by the end of month. The notice of termination must be submitted in written form. Not the day of dispatch, but the day of receipt by the landlord is decisive for deadline calculation.
Please make an appointment with the superintendent in charge in due time, 14 days before the scheduled move-out date. Remove all personal belongings from the rented accommodation. Please make sure that your room/apartment/flat is clean. Finally, the superintendent will personally make a room check.
Please make sure you find a representative. This can be a friend, a girlfriend or a relative. You should give those persons a written authorisation for handing over the keys and the flat.
Usually, every accommodation is equipped with washing machines and even dryers. The costs currently amount to 1.50 EUR per washing cycle and 1 EUR per drying cycle.

Beside a PC, a network card and a cable, an access authorisation of the Computer Centre of the Ruhr University Bochum is required for connection.
